6+ years surveying experience (must indicate knowledge/skill approx. to approved course); 3 years with degree

Examinations

  • FS (Fundamentals of Surveying) — required by all states
  • PS (Principles and Practice of Surveying) — required by all states
  • State-specific: Connecticut State Exam (2-hour, offered April and October)

Continuing Education

No mandatory CE for land surveyors (confirmed per CT DCP; 2015 bill SB00996 to add 8 hrs CE was introduced but did not pass)
