Accessibility

Azimuth Prep is committed to making our app usable by every land surveyor preparing for licensure, regardless of ability. We design for accessibility from the start rather than retrofitting it.

Features

  • High-contrast dark theme as the default and only theme — no flashing color changes.
  • Icon-based feedback for correct and incorrect answers (not color alone). Every state that uses color also uses an icon or label.
  • Text-to-speech audio on flashcards, with adjustable playback speed for users who prefer audio review.
  • Native iOS and Android components throughout, so the app inherits VoiceOver and TalkBack support.
  • Standard system text-size scaling honored across the app.

Known limitations

We're transparent about where we're still improving:

  • Some chart visualizations on the Stats screen use color to indicate performance tiers. These charts also include text labels (Strong, Building, Needs work) as a redundant signal, so the information isn't color-only — but the visual hierarchy is still color-led, which we plan to refine.
  • The interactive US map on /states is hidden on small screens because it isn't tap-friendly at phone size; the alphabetical state grid below it is the primary mobile navigation.

Report a barrier

If you run into an accessibility issue we haven't addressed — or there's a feature that would meaningfully help — please email contact@azimuthedu.com. Include the device, OS version, and a description of what you were trying to do. We treat accessibility reports as priority issues.
